Our Story

From our Founder

I was travelling when I first understood what herbal tea could be.

It wasn't a special occasion. Just a quiet afternoon, a simple cup of loose herbs steeped in hot water and a feeling I wasn't expecting. Something settled. I remember thinking: This is what ease feels like.

When I came home, I went looking for that feeling. I couldn't find it. What I found instead were products full of flavourings, designed to be convenient. The tea I was looking for was more than that. It was leaves and flowers, thoughtfully combined. Still, it was simple. It was enough.

So I started making some blends myself. Learning which herbs carry calm in their chemistry. Which spices open up when you give them time and hot water. What happens when you blend with care and without compromise.

Metta grew from there. Slowly, over years, one blend at a time.

Today, Metta exists to show what happens when you start with the leaf and the flower, not the flavouring. Every blend is a small act of faith in the ingredients themselves: that organic herbs, given the respect they deserve, will do what they have always done. Restore. Settle. Bring you back to yourself.
